Visiting Teaching Message - November 2013

"Because the November Liahona (Ensign) contains all the addresses from general conference, there is not a designated visiting teaching message for November. Visiting teachers are encouraged to prayerfully select their messages from one or more of the general conference addresses."

This was found on the visiting teaching page, on the LDS.org website (see HERE

I would usually make a handout with the visiting teaching message on it, but since there are so many topics and talks to choose from, I thought I would share a source for cute general conference quote handouts.
This blogger makes the most adorable handouts for church material.  Click HERE.  You can then download any of the free quote handouts that you might want to use for visiting teaching.  I'm planning on hanging some up in our house.  They are so cute!

11/10 - Sunday Lesson

Staci Gertsch taught the Relief Society lesson on Sunday.  If you missed Relief Society, it was lesson 21 from the Lorenzo Snow manual.  You can read the lesson HERE!  You can even listen to the lesson, print or download it.
Staci also shared a wonderful video message from Elder Jeffrey R. Holland's general conference talk "The First Great Commandment"

Sandy Tolman's famous pumpkin cookies

A couple Sundays ago, Sandy brought her delicious pumpkin chocolate chip cookies in for the sisters during her lesson.  Below is the recipe and it is super easy!! So there a are a couple of things we can take from this... #1 Sandy should teach all the time if she is going to bring cookies & #2 come to Relief Society, or else you might miss out on a delicious treat :-)

Ingredients:
-spice cake mix (only use the powder, no need for oil, eggs, etc)
-big can of pumpkin (don't use the one with spices)
-chopped nuts, handful of any kind. Sandy used pecans (skip this ingredient, if there are allergies)
-chocolate chips, handful

Stir all ingredients.  Spoon out onto greased baking sheet.  Bake at 350 for about 20 min.  This recipe makes about 2 dozen.
Enjoy!

Size is 4x6 and I have found it easy to print at Sam's Club.  But Walgreen's does same day printing also.
